What information is available?

The 'Find a child care service' feature displays all Child Care Benefit approved services. To find out what a Child Care Benefit approved service is, please visit our approved care information page.
The search results page also provides an interactive map for you to see where a child care centre is located and view any additional child care centres nearby.

What do search results mean?

Fixed fee - Fee that does not change with the age of the child.
Variable fee - Fee that changes depending on the age of the child.
Daily fee - Fee for care per child per day. The daily fee is based on the opening times as provided by the child care service and may vary between services. Where n/a appears in the fee table, please contact the child care service for daily fee information.
Hourly fee - Fee for care per child per hour. Where n/a appears in the fee table, please contact the child care service for hourly fee information.
Weekly fee - Weekly fees are based on care delivered from Monday to Friday. Where n/a appears in the fee table, please contact your child care service for weekly fee information.
Fee and duration of session - For both Before and After School Care the length of the session and fee information have been provided.
Additional services - Child care services were asked to provide details regarding any additional services they offer.
In Home Care and Family Day Care - Please note that In Home Care and Family Day Care may have an administration office. Your search results may provide information relating to the administration office for your area, and you should contact this office for access to the required service.
Vacancies – The definition of a vacancy may vary depending on the type of child care service:
  • After School and Before School Care - A vacancy is an anticipated, ongoing session that a child care service is willing to fill.
  • Long Day Care, Family Day Care, and In Home Care - A vacancy is an anticipated, ongoing, full day place that a child care service is willing to fill.
  • Occasional Care and Vacation Care - A vacancy is an anticipated, full day place that a child care service is willing to fill.
Vacancy information may be available for specific age groups, for example, 0-2 years old and school aged children. In some cases, further information may be available for other age groups. Please contact the child care service for further information.
